I studied medicine in the University of the Basque Country (UPV), Spain and qualified as a medical doctor in 1993.

I trained as a GP sharing jobs between Hospital de Cruces (the largest hospital in Bazkaia, Basque Country) and a Primary Care Centre in Ortuella, Bizkaia.

Before moving to England in 2007 I worked as a full time GP in a Primary Care setting and A&E on calls.

My personal interests include reading, long walks, the cinema, travelling and tasting good food and wine. Time with my daughter is a must!

Special interests: diabetes and palliative care.

Dr Diana McEwen (f)

GP partner / Trainer

Studied PhD Pathology at Imperial College London, prior to studying medicine at
Royal Free and University College London Medical school, and qualified as a medical doctor in 2006.

Completed hospital jobs at Horton Hospital (Banbury), John Radcliffe Hospital (Oxford), Nuffield Orthopaedic Hospital (Oxford) and Churchill Hospital (Oxford) and completed GP training scheme in Banbury.

Trained as a GP at Bicester Health Centre and subsequently worked at a number of practices in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Personal interests include photography, walking, cycling, travelling, consuming and performing arts, dinghy sailing in good weather.

Dr Mary Akinola (f)

GP partner

I qualified in 1988 from the University of Benin School of Medicine. After house jobs in Benin, I moved back to the UK. I completed my hospital training, initially working in Swindon, Banbury and Oxford.

I was part of the Banbury/Oxford vocational GP training scheme. I started my GP training at the Health Centre, Bicester and completed it at 19 Beaumont Street Surgery. I have been a GP since 2000, working in various practices and then joined Kennington Health Centre in March 2002 as a partner. I m now a partner at Botley Medical Centre and have been since July 2017.

I have been fortunate enough to maintain various interests throughout this time, involved initially in the Addictions Clinic in Oxford and Abingdon.

I have also worked in older adult psychiatry inpatients and in the memory clinic. I now work 2 days a week in research, mainly dementia and other neurological diseases like Parkinsons and Huntington s Disease.

Days on the practice: Tuesdays, Thrusdays and Fridays at Kennington Health Centre.
