Building Work at Botley Medical Centre

Building work will commence on Monday the 8th July at Botley Medical Centre. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause advance. We are working towards making the Practice lovely and new for our patients!

FRIDAY DROP IN CLINICS

After trialling and auditing our appointment system, we have found that the number of appointments used during the drop in clinic are actually less than the ones that are offered during a normal clinic. Therefore the Practice have decided to stop this service.

We will be now offering our normal clinics on a Friday which can either be pre booked in advance or booked on the day, to allow more patients to be seen by the Doctors.

Thank you for your understanding.

This week Dr Maddy Podichetty has left Botley Medical Centre.

We all wish her the best of luck with her new commitments!

If you were one of her patients you will have been now transferred to a different doctor's list. It can take a bit of time to get used to a new doctor but if you feel you would like to change , please, do not hesitate to let us know in writing and we will do our best to accommodate you with a different doctor.

Seasonal Flu Vaccinations 2018/19

It is really important that we protect ourselves and those around us by having a flu vaccination before the winter sets in.

The following groups of people are entitled to a free Flu vaccination at their GP surgery:

  • Those aged 65 and over.
  • People aged between 18 and 64 in a clinical at risk group, such as those withDiabetes or Heart Disease.
  • Pregnant Women
  • Carers
  • Health Care Workers
  • Children Aged 2 and 3

This year there is a different vaccine for the over 65s. Most children will receive an application of the vaccine by a nasal spray. To avoid confusion we are offering different flu clinics for the different groups.

If we have any vaccines over at the end of the programme will offer these to patients who do not fall within the at risk groups. If you would like a vaccination but are not entitled to a free one of the NHS you can go to any pharmacist advertising the service and pay a small fee for this.

Please contact the surgery to make an appointment for your flu jab. We will be contacting you if you have not attended for your appointment by the end of November.

Please note the new telephone number for appointments is 01865 730911
